At Haas, there are several trips organized each year for students and one of those trips is a caravan to Yosemite with 300 Haas students and partners in the same campground. It was a ton of fun and my group decided to hike up Cloud’s Rest.
It’s ~14.8 mile round trip despite what the AllTrails profile says here with ~3,000 feet of elevation gain.
While a long hike, the switchbacks aren’t too bad (much easier than Four Mile Trail to Glacier Point or Half Dome) and most of the trail is dust/dirt versus the granite/rock you’ll find in the rest of the park.
Overall a fantastic hike with amazing views of Half Dome and the Valley beyond.
Try to go on a clearer day and bring layers, as the wind at the top can be fierce!
