Below you will find my Winter 2011 research project regarding the recent debate over the legality of citizens recording police operations with the cell phones. While this would seem like a fairly straightforward issue, it is necessarily complicated by various wiretapping statutes that, while still on the books, were not intended to regulate the world of cell phone video cameras. This was my paper for MS&E 197/STS 110 at Stanford in winter quarter 2011. If you are a current student, feel free email me with questions about the course, I would be happy to help. Let me know if you have any questions.
