I like to say I am part photographer, part hiker, part adventure traveler, and part funny man. Always learning and exploring, I am currently a student at Stanford University in sunny California and am enjoying every second. Past Projects
Sustainability Projects
- The Solar Golf Cart Charging Station (2008-2009) – Wrote and received a $5,000 grant to construct a 20 panel solar array that now powers 8 electric golf carts on campus. It has been featured in the press numerous times.
- The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality Recycling Grant (2008-2009) – Wrote and received a $200 grant to expand the recycling program at Phoenix Country Day School.
- The Bio Diesel Golf Cart Project (2006-2007) – Wrote and received a $5,000 grant with a peer to convert a golf cart to run on bio diesel.
- The Sustainable House (2005-2006) – As part of a math and science honors project, a peer and I researched the latest sustainable technologies and incorporated them into a model sustainable house.
- The Future City Competition (2004-2005) – As part of the Future City Competition, two peers and I constructed a model city of the future. We were the recipients of two environmental awards at the competition.
Research Projects
- Electric Fish Project (Summer 2008) – Conducted four weeks of research at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel. Wrote and researched a 19 page paper on grouping behavior and the social dynamics of the weakly electric fish, Gnathonemus petersii in relation to Electric Organ Discharges. Paper has been entered into the Arizona Junior Science and Humanities Symposium, results to follow.
- Characteristics of Presidential Candidates: Do They Matter? (March 2008) – Wrote and researched a 27 page investigation of presidential characteristics and whether there were any discernable patterns.
- Uncle Tom’s Cabin: A Historically Accurate Novel or an Impassioned Propaganda Pamphlet? (October 2007) – Wrote and researched a 30 page investigation of the historical accuracy and literary importance of Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe.
